The Playful Adult
PLAY NOW ~ ACT OLD LATER
PLAY MORE ~ STRESS LESS
PLAYING IS NOT JUST FOR KIDS
Any of these four keynote topics revolve around the importance of
adults being able to incorporate play in their busy and often stressful lives. “We don’t stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.” Adults often think of play as a waste of time and it should just be for children.
This session will incorporate the following concepts:
- People who take time to play, relax, and have fun lead a more balanced life.
- Play has byproducts such as: increasing the immune system; it is the gateway to vitality; and it promotes a sense of belonging and community.
- Adult-adult relationships are enhanced with play, as are adult-child relationships.
- Play is the opposite of work.
Executives running organizations do not have the information to understand the true nature of play. Even those who have a natural appreciation and temperament for the benefits of play see play and work as separate. Teachers and caregivers who are with children all day can often say that they don’t know how to play. This session will change that! Participants will receive approval for playing and learn this skill which is lacking for many adults.
